Baby Gender

Wondering if anyone has had success with Shettles Method, Preconception Diet, or any other gender selection methods short of clinical types.

I know this probably seems a little wacky but I figure why not try, it shouldn’t hurt anything…My husband and I are going to try to conceive again and, while we will be happy either way, we secretly want to try for a girl to balance out the family. A long time ago there was a book about dieting for gender selection. Does anybody have any information on this diet or know the foods to eat to “help” try to produce a little girl?
The diet is for the female because it “alters” the pH balance of the vagina making it more condusive to the female sperm.

Gender selection is when technology allows us to choose whether we want a boy or a girl.

Do you feel that it is right or wrong and if you had the money, would you do this and why?

I am talking about getting sonograms and ultrasounds to find out the gender of the baby and if it’s not what you want, then you abort it. I think it’s terrible. This is being done daily in India and China. They don’t want girls. The population of men to women in India is definately not equal. There are many more men than women and they are even trafficking wives in for the men. They are wiping out whole generations of women. Gender selection should be illegal. What do you think?
There is a two or three page article about gender selection in the new Glamour magazine. I read about it in there and it made me so angry.

I’m looking for scientific views on gender selection (pros, cons, diet & conception) and ideas to make an informed decision about baby gender prediction. I’m open to all relevant ideas – specifically links to sites and guides that cover the natural methods in more detail.

what are your thoughts on gender selection (trying to concieve a particular sex)
just to clarify, i have two children, a boy and a girl. My son craves a brother and my daughter doesnt mind either way. I do not want a boy any more than a girl i would be happy with what ever , i just entertained the idea of how nice for my son not to be sad about not having a brother
